About me
This is my ninth year to be fortunate enough to teach at Troy Jr/Sr High School. I have been teaching English and Language Arts since 1994. I am a National Board Certified Teacher and hold a M.Ed. in Secondary Education from the University of Idaho. I am a writer and a voracious reader. Ask me about a book and I've probably read it or something by that author!
I live with my husband and our two children, Tall Boy and Short Stuff and our two dogs. We spend time working outside, playing games together and traveling. I grew up playing the fiddle and traveling all over the Western United States and Canada competiing in fiddle contests. Now I like playing "Turkey in the Straw" and "Red Haired Boy" in my livingroom for my own children.
I love watching children learn, both my students and my own. I receive great joy in hearing a reader discover new ideas from a book or watching a writer draft a great sentence. I feel I am a fortunate person to do what I love everyday for my job.
